Glucosamine / Condroitine and MSM
I've read this supplement could be helpful for people involved in heavy lifting. (all of us
)I don't know anything about glucosamine + condroitine + MSM mix, but would like to give it a try. Do you know how much glucosamine should i take (my bw is about 165lb)? When? Can I take it year round? It should be taken with something else to favour transport? keep me informed! thanks

It is something that can be taken year round, and there are also some other products that may be helpful for joint health (microlactin, high dose fish oil, etc.)

I have two ruptured discs in my back, I have to take it daily. If I don't take it for a little while I can feel a difference. I just take the recommended dose on the bottle.

I have taken glucosamine + condroitine + MSM before but ran out, been meaning to get more. I don't have joint problems but I do like to lift heavy and I have read up on the stuff and it seems to be good. I think there are a few different kinds of the pill that doesn't have a three, which all three is what you want if I remember right they all work together somehow to help you out. I'm pretty sure anybody can take it all year around. I've read it's slow working, so you would probably have to take a couple bottles before it really starts repairing and build up cartilage.

i have pain at the hips, probably related to psoas. I know glucosamine is also an antinfiammatory, so maybe it could help me. I "injured" myself during a session of dynamic stretching. Four weeks has passed and the pain is not going to leave. but it is neither getting worse, fortunately. I tried a gel antinfiammatory for a few days (4 days if i remember well) but it didn't help.
I feel the pain mainly during squats. Can glucosamine hurt my stomach?

You have to be really careful if you have any food allergies. Products like Joint Free contain shellfish. I never knew I was allergic to shellfish until I had an incident at Fisherman's Warf in S.F. last year. I felt and looked like Will Smith in that one movie, Hitch. Anyhow, I used to take Joint Free a couple years back, and I never knew why I was breaking out in rashes and bumps on my face. I wouldn't take it for more than a week, but still, I later found out that it contained shellfish.
*** I just did a quick search. I believe there is now a shellfish-free glucosamine product out there. Last edited by BishopLord; 11-18-2009 at 06:34 PM.. |
