If Marcus can keep it together, I see him going very far. He's just too strong and he's plenty big enough to stuff Nelson's takedown attempts But I agree, I had Nelson beating Kimbo. I'm kinda hoping we get to see Kimbo fight again though.

I don't think Marcus can handle it mentally. I'm rooting for him, but he seems pretty soft, which is probably why he was a bust for my Buccaneers
Hate to say it, but that fatass Nelson has been the most dominant so far. Brendan did look good last night though, and half the fighters still haven't gone yet.

Looks like I was wrong. I see Marcus going pretty far too as long as he can keep it together. He's a big, tall guy. I'm not sure what his fighting skills are like yet, but I think he has potential either way. Kind of like Kimbo. He really aint that great, but if you give it some time, and keep teaching him for a few years, I think he could come back a lot better than he did this time. On a side note, how old is Kimbo?
Although Dmieco (spelling?) was dominating, I don't think he did any real damage yet. The choke that finished it was in kind of a wierd position (think they called it the anaconda choke). Both were lying on their backs forming a straight line, heads together, and he had Dmieco in a choke. Hadn't seen that one before. It's like a guillotine but flipped upside down on the mat. |

I learned the anaconda choke last night. Or a variation of it at least. I tapped someone twice when I was sparring after we learned it. When you roll it makes it 10x tighter, I think you get some kind of leverage from being on your back. Agree with joey54, Demico would have won if he stayed in side control, you could see a bruise on Bendan's eye in the post fight interview, and that was from only a few seconds of GNP.

An anaconda choke is just an arm triangle from a headlock position, and arm triangles are no fun. Anaconda choke is one of those moves that separates blue belts from purple belts in BJJ. When I'd roll with some of the more experienced guys I always, always, always got caught in that stupid move. Demico was dominating the fight, he just found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time with someone who is a more experience grappler.

Anybody watch last night? Damn these guys are all out of shape. Some decent punches thrown in the first round and then it just got ridiculous. Though they were gonna lay down and take a nap instead of fight.

Yea this whole season has been pretty bad. Hopefully by the next rounds there conditioning will have picked up. Marcus fights next episode him and Kimbo were the main two guys I wanted to see fight.

Wednesday's fight was terrible. I was surprised Dana White was so entertained. Honestly, it was barely halfway in the first round and the punches looked like slow-mo.

That is because Dana is one hell of a bullsh**er. He knows this season sucks so he is trying to act like that was a good fight.

Yeah it was like the Shivers/McSweeny fight all over again. They barely made it half a round at normal speed.

At least they are weeding out the guys that shouldn't have been there to start with. The next round should be a little better.

None of these guys are contenders at all as far as I can see, I can't even see any of them even being gate keepers. I know for sure that Kimbo is going to be in the finale, and most likely get a contract regardless due to his current appeal. I guess we'll see how the semi-finals go.....

He's must likely going to be on the list of people fighting, he's not going to be actually fighting for the TUF contract. Undercard if you will.

So just an extra fight for show and ratings? Not actually worth anything to us.

I think Kimbo looks like the one in there thats learning and advancing at the quickest rate. Hope to see him fight again. Looking forward to marcus's fight aswell, see if that soft side gets put aside because he looks like he could do some damage.
And yeah all their fitness levels are up to ****!

I'll be the first to say that this entire season has been kind of dissapointing. The conditioning has been pretty bad, even for heavyweights.
Marcus' fight really surprised me. Kind of dissapointing I didn't get to watch more though. He works hard in practice, and I'd like to see what his conditioning is like, and his standup a bit more too. His ground work was really good. He transitioned positions pretty well for a big guy. And you could tell he was serious. That armbar lasted all of a second before he verbally tapped. Did it even last a minute? I like Marcus' attitude also. He's kind of like Kimbo. A gentle giant. Pretty modest and laid back untill he gets into fighting. He seems real eager to learn, and respects his coach a lot. |

That fight surprised me. I had a feeling Marcus would take it but that armbar out of nowhere was impressive as was his agility, especially for being that big. He's definitely in the best shape of anyone on the show.
