Building a Monster Upper Back

A huge and thick upper back is the hallmark of the alpha strength athlete. Only those with the fortitude and will to train with the requisite intensity will achieve the kind of upper back that literally intimidates and inspires awe in all who see it.

If you truly want the biggest and strongest back possible, it is necessary to combine the best of both the powerlifting and bodybuilding worlds!

Strikeforce: Fedor Emelianenko vs Brett Rodgers

Fedor vs Brett = Fedor by whatever the hell he wants.

Jason Miller vs Jake Sheilds = Jason miller

Gegard Mousasi vs Sokodjou = Gegard Mousasi

Fabricio Verdum vs Antonio Silva = If Verdum can get Silva to the ground, then I would easily say Verdum by submission, but if Silva keeps it standing he'll win by throwing his big lunchboxes around.

Just wondering what the rest of the wannabebig mma fans here expect to see and happen.

I agree with you for almost all of them. I think Jake Shields will steamroll Mayhem.

I lost a lot of respect for fedor after the whole ufc thing went down earlier this year, but ill still probably watch him fight since he hasn't fought in a long time.

I'm with you on this. I don't know if he'll streamroll Miller - he's pretty durable but I do think he'll beat him up for 5 rounds.

Now, Mousasi he'll steamroll Sokodjou.

I see on my TV listings (eastern time) that it's from 9-11 on CBS.

I hope jake shields loses just cause I'm tired of the guy. He thinks he's a to fighter and I just don't believe I've never seen such horrible striking from a guy in my life.

Fedor is great but a lot of people down play how weak the HW division in MMA is right now.

Well my problem is that fedor had his chance to enter ufc this year with a contract that met his needs, and he turned it down! If you are going to prove yourself as a hw badass in mma you have to go to ufc. Until he does he will continue to be analogous to boise state in college football in my mind.

Well I heard he has a seperate contract with M-1 global that has like 3 fights left (tonight being one of them). Until then he technically can't sign with the UFC not until the UFC meets M-1 gloabals demands as well.

Well, this is sort of true. Fedor and his manager Vadim Finklestein own a portion of M-1 Global and the big deal was co-promotion. Vadim wanted Dana and the UFC to co-promote with him but Dana White was very solid on not wanting to co-promote events. the ufc threw a ton of money at Fedor, but in the end his manager wouldn't give in and thus we have Fedor in strikeforce with m-1 co-promotion

I don't blame Dana one bit for not wanting to co-promote, and I'm more mad with m-1 and Vadim Finklestein for being a crap manager. Fedors brother Aleksander even said that Finklstein is one sheisty guy but I don't know all the inner details. Regardless I really do hope that we see Fedor in the UFC or atleast him fighting top HW contenders.

I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more competition between UFC and the other MMA organizations/companies right now. UFC jockeyed, and I'm sure lobbied, for their position at the top right now and I'd be down to watch an organization other than UFC right now but it seems like UFC is sucking up all of the talent. If M1 had more than Fedor (they might but if so I've never heard about it) then I think a lot of people would be willing to watch them. Now UFC has said they will program their events on the same night(s) as other organizations and that essentially means that because they have all the talent right now that they are going to essentially destroy other organizations with regards to ratings.

Anyone else think that some of the other organizations blew it by not partnering up to beat UFC before it became a monopoly? I mean maybe they *did* try it but if so they failed. I like the idea of having all the talent be able to fight each other without cross/co-promotion problems (that apparently plague boxing) so that you can see the best vs best consistently.

LOL I didn't know that Jason Mayhem Miller guy from that MTV show was in StrikeForce. For the longest time I thought it was Dan Henderson (I swear they look the same).

Anyway did you see the way that he entered? When they come in dancing like that I think it's so awesome. There was a link that was on Digg the other week that was awesome showing the best (some may say "worst") entrances in MMA. I'll have to reproduce that link here in a bit.

Too many greedy people for that too work. Everyone wants a ridiculously larger portion than they are entitled to.

Haven't been super impressed by any of these fights to be honest. I hope Fedor proves to be more interesting than the previous ones were.

Well that fight certainly didn't dissapoint.

Fedor can really take a punch, getting his nose broken with one hit like that and still just charging ahead like a machine

That bomb he dropped Rogers with was very impressive.

***DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED IT YET***

It was an interesting fight. Certainly exciting. I'm surprised the guy lasted that long. It kinda sucks though I wish McCarthy had let Fedor make a couple more hits before interfering, Rogers looked like he was trying to roll out of it a little bit.

Oh well. I think if Rogers had a bit more training then he could have possibly won. Staying down on the ground when they both should have gotten up seemed like a stupid thing to do on his part and he's lucky Fedor didn't capitalize on that. Then again maybe that hit on Fedor's nose at the beginning was a lucky shot.

*spoiler* haha

IMO it looked like Rogers wasn't trying to fight back at all after that big hit cuz he got his bell rung, just turning his back on Fedor and trying to cover his head... but without much awareness of what he was doing.

Sweet KO.

I heard that someone said he may have broke his nose but was it from the jab? Or from when rogers had him on his back for a sec? Either way great fight, first blood should have lit a bit more of a fire under rogers ass from the get go, like he said he'll throw more in the possible rematch. But classic fedor just KO'd a giant... ridiculous power.
