There's a guy in my gym who literally comes in for like 2 hours sits on a 45degree bench and does nothing but dumbell curls. He does this maybe... 4 days a week.

He does like... 20 sets of 30 (really light weight), and spends the time between sets talking on the phone or flexing in the mirror (whilst still seated).

Ah, I would have to say curls in the squat rack are my favorite. I get pumped up to squat, got my Disturbed banging in my iPod, ready to roll... and some dude has a two dimes on the bar curling in the squat rack.

Errrr....

My all time favorite, is when EVERYBODY dispurses across the weight sets all hard core and crap, and then when you look at the weight, EVERYONE OF THEM can barely put in 150lbs.

And than you get 10 minutes throughout an hour period for weight lifting class to get your 250, 275, and 300lbs sets in...

Friggen kills me.

The 250 pound guy who puts 225 pounds on the bench and screams at the top of his lungs like some kind of man-banshee.

There's a guy at my gym who does this, it's beyond annoying.

A little grunting is cool, it happens sometimes, but this guy isn't grunting. He's screaming.

Everyone in the gym always looks at each other and laughs. Then dude gets off the bench and has his eyebrows furled in his angry Hulk Me-Smash pose.

There are only two things that really bother me:

1) When I get ******ed spotters
2) When people take forever on a piece of equipment and won't let me work in

I got a guy at my gym who does the scream thing. It's really distracting as I am thinking about what a moron he is instead of focusing on my workout.

The other, is when i see people i know at the gym and they want to talk to me for 10 mins. Dude, I am here to work out, flippen call me later if you want to gossip like a school girl.

I heard this really loud grunting the other day. Some chubbo in a beater on incline with quarters... Haven't seen that in all my years.

You should try a dude easily 350lbs (of muscle BTW) grunting, screaming, etc. with 15lbs on both sides of his bar. A 10lb and a 5lb on both sides.......

And no, I'm NOT kidding.

YES! Exactly!

Another thing I like to watch in my amusement are a lot of people (some teens, some adults), doing curls... for one hour, while I do SS, they do curls... and maybe 12 different kinds.

Oh, not so much in the gym, but I freakin' hate it anyways...

When I leave the gym and get my membership card back, every damn day the person at the counter asks, "Know anyone interesting in joining the gym?"

No. The answer is no. I've told you 274 times already, the answer isn't going to change. If someone was interested in joining, I'd tell them to join and I wouldn't need you to remind me to ask them to join. Back off.

I hate when "powerlifters" sing to their music between sets. There's a guy at my gym who is always belting along to his i-pod at the top of his lungs when he goes to grab some water. He's always got 225 racked up on the bench and I never see it move. But I always hear him sing along to whatever he's listening to.

Yesterday it was "Like I love you" by Justin Timberlake followed by an excellent rendition of "Just Dance" by Lady Gaga.

What's such the big deal about biceps?

As long as they put in equal or grater time in their triceps, I don't see anything wrong with it? It helps when you go to do pull-ups.

At my gym there's a guy who plays the air guitar between sets, we should hook these guys up so they could start a band.

I mouth the words sometimes to songs, but never actually sing them. Am I "that guy"?

That deadlift video was the worst form on any lift that I've ever seen in my life. Dude's gonna put himself in the hospital.

I lift at home. Just me and the weight. When I see an idiot at the gym it's just me in the mirror.

Haha, that would be a trip. We could probably round up a few mid 40 year old women w/ tons of make-up and perfume in skimpy outfits that are always hanging around to dance back-up

Mouthing the words is fine, we probably all do that. But if you're singing so loud you need a air guitarist and some back-up singers then you are "that guy"

The young cute blonde girl that was doing sit ups really close to me today when I was doing low rows (wearing some SHORT asics shorts and a light blue thong) had to do an extra set just to let "things" calm down...hehe

I didn't say there was anything wrong with it. But when you spend an hour doing 5+ types of curls?

No, I do that too... I think we're safe.

But I just had to get back to this forum. I just got in from the gym, and man was it ever packed! I had to run to the only available squat rack (the others were takin' by people in groups of 2-4, doing BARBELL CURLS! AAAGGHHH!)

And in my hour of lifting, I saw plenty of people (ages vary up to 50s I'd say) jacked from waist up, while their legs are as big as my wrist! Can you tell they have their priorities mixed up?

One of these guys also took the open squat rack beside me, and started doing his 4th curl exercises (I couldn't help but notice! He's in his 50s and hes ripped from the waist up! This guy has to be pro!) with the barbell, loading up about a 100lbs (this guy looks like he could curl 300), and starting swaying and screaming at the top of his lungs while trying to curl this thing.

Man I love busy days, so entertaining.

The trainers at the gym that strut around like they own the ****ing place and think there big because they quarter squat 225 and yell and scream like they accomplished something.

The guys who think for some reason they are better than everyone else and dont have to strip there weights.

The curl jockey in the power racks curling 65 lbs for a ridiculous amount of sets.

Guys who for some reason think they are big enough and knowledgeable enough to hand out advice and have no idea what they are talking about.

The colt of guys who think and always insist on letting you know that squatting and deadlifting is detrimental to your knees and back because they tried doing them once and realized how piss poor there strength actually was and couldnt man up to actually learn how to do them so decided against them.
