The YANKEES WIN
The most painful drought of sports is finally over. The YANKEES WIN THE WORLD SERIES.
There are actually 1000's of yankees fans who have never seen them win a WS champion. It's finally there time. (Basically any Yankee fan at the age of 5 should have seen at least 1 Yankee WS victory ) I also think this makes them the best team in the decade, having tied the most WS wins, won the most pennants, and having the best record.BTW I'm hoping this is enough to clinch a Hall of Fame spot for A-Rod, Mo, Jeter, and Pettitte. I think Pettite is probably the only one who would be borderline. Maybe if Posada plays well for another few years he could be in the consideration as well. Five rings is a lot of bling. To me, the MVP of the series is either Mo or Matsui (He's hitting like .500). Only two Phillies showed up, Lee and Utley, maybe they should send one of them a ring lol. Utley was basically inhuman (lol Maybe he should be MVP), if the Yankees just walked him every at bat they would have ended up sweeping the Phillies.

I dont like the Yankees but congrats to them.
They have not won the most titles in the decade that would be held a tie with them and the redsox have two in this decade as well so they can lay claim to that title as well. Im glad all of NY can rejoice now they have paid finally for their chamionship Matsui needs to win the MVP, but imo Utley was head and shoulders above the rest of the competition ARod was a hall of famer even without a ring imo, this just cements it, and in a weird way im happy for him, people were all over his case and im glad he got the critics off his back and has a title

Congrats but I'm not really impress. With the biggest payroll, they should win most of them. If you have the money why not spend it, i get that. I also know they wont win them all regardless of what they spend. It just take a little away in my opinion. Now if you live in NY or an Yankee fan I'm sure everything is peaches and cream.

I wouldn't call it a drought. With what they spend on players, they should roll through every season.

Agree.
Ask Cubs fans about a painful drought.

The most uttered phrase in World Series History: The Yankees win!
Arod, Jeter and Rivera are already locks to be in the HOF, this didn't change anything. Pettitte is a great Yankee, but not a HOFer. Posada is borderline. And wah, the Yankees spend a lot of money. They also make a lot of money, and they win. Isn't that what a pro sports team is supposed to do? By the way homegrown Yankee players on this WS roster: Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Jorge Posada, Robinson Cano, Andy Pettitte, Joba Chamberlain, Melky Cabrera, Phil Coke, Alfredo Aceves, Phil Hughes, David Robinson, Ramiro Pena and Brett Gardner. (That's 13) High-Priced F.A. players: Alex Rodriguez, Mark Teixeira, CC Sabathia, AJ Burnett (I'll even give you Johnny Damon and Hideki Matsui). That's 6

Don't be hatin on the Yankees people!! Tell your owners to stop being so cheap and pay the money for the big players!!! It's a long season and anything can happen. There are a lot of awesome players on those low salary teams that just haven't got their big payout contracts yet.
I especially love it when the Mets or Red Sox fans use the money excuse, LMAO. If thats true then they should be the 2nd or 3rd best team in the league EVERY year too! IT'S UP TO YOU....NEW....YORK...NEW YOOOOOOOORRRKKKKKK!!!!

I was rooting for the Yankees this year, as I felt that the Rays got a raw deal last year...
I'm a born and raised Cardinals fan so it takes a lot for me to switch over to the dark side and root American league, though it has happened the last to years for basically the same reason. The Rays proved that you don't have to spend the big bucks to play great ball, and it was something that has been missing in the game for a long time. It would have been a great series if the umpiring was bipartisan. As long as the Cubs live up to their reputation and the Royals are in last place, It's a good year.

This Yankees victory exorcised a lot of demons. A-Rod's and the 2004 ones. Also it justifies the addition of Tex, CC, and AJ.
I wish I didn't have to work on Friday I would like to go to the Parade. I think next year the Yankees will look really good, I don't think they are losing a ton of core good players, just some of the great ones they have now will get older. I also think the Red Sox will continue the Nuclear Arms Race that is the AL East and will try to make some big acquisitions.

At least Sunday night football won't have to be bumped again. I'm happy about that.

Congrats to the Yankees. I still do not like them but I have to give credit where credit is due. I just wish my Phillies won. Oh well, only 3 or so months before pitchers and catchers report.
