Fight Club Routine

Hey all,

I've read in several threads about how alot of people desire a physique similar to Brad Pitt's in Fight Club. I strongly agree that it helps having a goal and a role model to keep you motivated to attaining the body you're working hard to get. With that said I found his workout scheme online so here it is:

Monday - Chest
3 - 25 push ups
3 - nautilus press 45,55,65
3 - nautilus incline press 55,65,70
3 - pec deck machin 40,45,50

Tuesday - Back
3 - 5 pull ups
3 - seated rows 75,80,85
3 - lat pull downs 85,90,95
3 - t bar rows 50,55,60

Wednesday - Shoulders
3 - arnold press 35,35,35
3 - laterals 15,15,15
3 - front raises 10,10,10

Thursday - Bicep/Tris
3 - nautilus curl machine 20,25,30
3 - ez curls cable 30,35,40
3 - hammer curls 15,20,25
3 - push downs 50,55,60

Friday
Treadmill 45 minutes 65-75% MHR

Sat/Sun off

Reps Range From 20-30 reps on all exercises

Alot of people were wondering his measurements etc. He's 6'0" and during the movie he was 155-159 lbs. Some people thought he was pushing 200 lbs. but that's false. Also, notice in his workout there is no leg day, which unless you're filming a movie where no one sees your legs, will make your body unproportionate. If you want to check out how skinny Pitt's legs were during the film check out www.bradpittfan.com. The section of pictures that are "behind the camera" show him training in wrestling on mats and shows how skinny his legs were.

Keep in mind too that Brad Pitt had a personal trainer, nutrionist, personal chef, and a team of people making sure he was in amazing shape for the movie. But anyones hard work and determination will have similar outcomes.

I don't care what anyone says, Brad pitt weighed significantly more than 155lbs at 6'0 in fight club. I would say more around 175.

Edit: Damn he's legs are skinny in that pic. I would still guess around 165 though....

Don't forget the diet, I reckon that was prob a bigger factor in achieving his physique than his weights routine, although obviously both are important

I was looking for good ab routines in different search engines and one mentioned Brad Pitt's famous abs so I checked it out. It turned out to be a message board with an entire forum dedicated to his physique in the movie. I don't remember the site but I copy and pasted the workout and saved it in case I decided I wanted to try it out some day.

Yea I'm sure his diet was really strict. But you gotta take into consideration he had all his meals planned and made for him, all he had to do was eat them and do what his trainer told him to do in the gym. Regardless of any of that though I give him major props for pulling off such an impressive build for the movie.

there is no leg worout, so i can see how he could be under 170. And i'm pretty sure his bf was pretty low. i think 160 - 165 is about right, i myself having a hard time belieave that he weighted at 155.

If you check out the pics on the site I mentioned you might not have such a hard time believing that but I do agree that 155 is fairly low for someone who is 6'0" and in that good of shape. From the looks of things in the movie his bf% was almost non-existent but I'm not sure how much being on screen, lighting, etc. exaggerates that type of thing. One thing is for sure though and that is he got in incredible shape and inspired alot of people to do the same.

Other than being really lean, I can't see why anyone would want that . He looked skeletal.

So basically, a super-generic bodybuilding split with high reps. It's neat to find things like this online, but I'm going to laugh if anyone thinks following this routine will get them closer to Brad Pitt's physique than their current one.

WoRD!

Them were some damn skinny legs. He had a leg double in Troy. I was watching Fight Club last night and thought his upper body looked great. But seeing those leg shots make me think all that work was pointless. I'm with Scott, if you want a good body, stick to what you're doing.

20-30 reps? ???

I don't know about the 155 weight..... but then again, think about it, the screen is supposed to add 10 pounds, so he'd have to be really slim to start with, but then look at the weights he's moving.... the most he's moving with his chest is what? 130-140 pounds? Shoulders 35 pounds? EZ curls (which would have to be both arms) 40 pounds? And most the exercises are on machines and we all know machine weight is less than real DB or BB.

So for a 6' guy who obviously works out all the time (he's been cut for every movie I've seen him in back to Thelma and Louise and Kalifornia) I think he probably went super low cal, super high reps with low weight (really getting more cardio workout than anything) and went for the most cut he could knowing the camera would add 10 pounds. I just can't see how it would make sense any other way.

I'd be interested to see his routine for Troy where he bulked up a bit, he didn't weight 155 in that I'll tell ya. Thought he looked the best in Snatch. Defined but not cut down to nothing.

I'm a little confused why someone who wants to look like Brad Pitt is posting on a site called 'WannaBeBig'.

im 155 6'0 tall, and he pretty much has the same build as me, accept he ahs a bit more weight on his side portion of the abs, but he also has slightly smaller legs then me, so it evens out... i can pretty much guarantee u he is 150-159 in those pics... judging by my body and weight anyways...

totally agree he could easily be 155.

man im 120-25, due to a very small frame (im 6ft too) but if i added another 30lbs of lean muscle id easily top brad for size.
Without doubt hes an ecto, i find it hard to beleive that ppl can be 170lbs and still skinny.

youll probably find a lot of bodybuilders who u think look 170, and then find that they are 140-150. Its all in the base weight.

I have to say that bradd pitt is one of the idiots that made skinny people turn into jacked people. the only reason he looks so built is because he has no fat on him. now you have these stupid skinny*** kids who think that they're jacked, because when they look in the mirror they can see every tiny muscle on theyre body...well ive got news for them...anorexic women can do the same thing.

whoa whoa, easy buddy... it is mostly about the looks isnt it? now... lemme tell u somethin, im 155, and i do look jacked... and i lift a lots of the guy who got 50 or more lbs on me... usually they cant believe it, and they always watch me work out, just cuz we got a lean build doesnt mean we cant push anythin... if by max bench u mean how many times u can do one or two presses, then im around 240, pretty close to u... strength and size are diff... i got strength, and i looked jacked, even tho im relativaly small...

Judging one person's weight based on their appearance in film (or TV) for that matter is completely subjective and yes it is true,TV/Movies & even Film does seem to "add 10 lbs". Don't think so? Take a still of yourself and have people guesss your weight (make sure you provide you height) and I never would have thought this guy 6' tall.
Just looks smaller on screen I guess?
