Cycle creatine?

I been using creatine and proteien for the past 6 months and my weight increased from 195 to 234 whilst maintaining the same bodyfat levels. I've also made excellent strength gains. Problem is, the last 2-3 weeks I've been stuck on the same weight and I'm not really getting any stronger anymore. I've been waiting for this much dreaded plateau and I guess it here. I realise that I have to change my assult a little bit and was wondering if stop taking creatine for 2-3 months and then starting again would help? My diet and water intake is really good and I get plenty of sleep.

any advice would be most helpful.

I don't think it's necessary to 'cycle', but you could take a couple of weeks off from it and see. Hell, everone's different.

my uncle says that if you take creatine for more than a few months it will stop working as good, so he said you are supposed to cycle it 3 months on 1 month off

no need to cycle. creatine is found in red meats and your body produces it every day.

I think it is necessary to load creatine, i started taking 1 serving a day as required for about 2 weeks, and i saw nothing. We did some research on the internet and found that loading for a week should help. So I took 6 scoops a day instead of 2, for one week. Now after that one week ive been taking the 2 scoops (2 scoops= 1 serving BTW) for a bout 1 week, along with 4 scoop of whey a day (80g) ive gained 8 lb in 2 weeks. If I wouldnt have loaded I dont think it would have been as good of gains.

you are using a creatine cocktail, not straight creatine monohydrate. thus since there are other things in the cocktail besides creatine, you probably were not seeing the effects of the creatine because you weren't taking in enough creatine in the first place.
