potassium gluconate

im on a psmf diet now. i am supplementing potassium since i wont be eating things like bananas etc. that are high in potassium, although im eating a serving of veggies every meal and in between meals. only thing i found for potassium supplementation was potassium gluconate. each pill 595 mg but only 99 mg of that is potassium. does anyone know why its such a small percentage? is it simply due to what the potassium is bonded with weighs a lot more?

also, the directions say to take 1 pill daily. im trying to get about 1g of potassium a day, but would like to supplement about 300-500mg of that since i want to make sure im getting enough potassium a day. is there anything wrong with taking 3-5 of these potassium gluconate pills a day even when the directions say just 1?

Dunno what is a psmf diet, but I assume it is low carb...
Veggies are very rich in potassium, no need to supplement. Avocados are very high too.

Some PSMF suitable sources would be tomatoes, watercress, green leafy vegetables and mint leaves.

(Which totally ignores your actual question I realise )
