1036 - new BP World Record - Ryan Kennelly

    from PowerliftingWatch...
    http://www.powerliftingwatch.com/node/5590

Ryan Kennelly benched 1,036 pounds today at the WPO Stars of the Bench in the Ukraine. That gave Kennelly the win and the new All-Time Record in the bench press. Kennelly surpasses Gene Rychlak's 1,010 pound effort.

Rob Luyando benched 903 pounds which is a new All-Time Record in the 242 pound class, besting his own mark. Luyando hit his 850 pound opener, 881 pound second, and missed a 921 pound fourth attempt.

    Scot Mendelson benched 914 pounds.

Kennelly has gained a lot of weight and is MASSIVE right now. He is just an amazing bencher. Rob L. is equally as amazing. Congrats to them both!

Awesome performances. Ryan never leaves money on the table and now he has the biggest number to top it off. Rob is amazing as well. I cannot overlook Mendelson either on this one. I am glad to see he got a good number in. I'm sure people will talk crap, but a 900+ is a 900+. The Americans sure put on a show.

Simply incredible. Kennelly was just waiting in the wings to unleash that 1000+ bench apparently. I'm surprised Mendy didn't go for more.

I saw Rob Luyando a couple years ago at an APF meet in Chicago and I knew he was going to be unbelievable. He is a beast!

That's crazy. Do any of these record holders have a total near 3000, or do they specialize in a single lift?

Correction on initial post: the 914 by Scot Mendelson was an error by PLWatch...
It's corrected now, his final good lift was 986...

I think most of these guys are BP specialist... I don't think any of them has a total over 2500... but hey... that's still a lot

I don't think Ryan or Rob have done any full meets lately.

Bolton who has the 1003.1 DL has a 2806.5 total
Mike Miller who has a 1212 squat has a 2625 total

I am curious to see what Donnie Thompson, one of our sponsored athletes, can pull out at Louie's meet next month. I think he has the potential for 3k. He has already done 2,770 lbs in a meet: http://atlargenutrition.com/donnie_thompson.php
