Hi I'm new... (just got a treadmill too)

    Hi all,

Just wanted to say Hi. I'm 18, 6'2", 220lbs ~14% BF ( according to those digital scales). Looking forward to chatting with you all and getting some help here.

My goal is 8 % .. that means that I have to lose 15lbs of fat, if my math is good (while maintaining and hopefully even increasing a bit of muscle mass). This will get me at 205lbs... I'm hoping to do this in three - four months (5lbs/month + maintenance)

I just got a treadmill the other day (Schwinn 6150 ) and I'm planning on starting a cardio program. What do you recommend as far as something that will aid reducing my BF % and getting leaner ?

    Thanks a lot..!

Welcome to the board man. Well first thing is Diet, once you got that down, your cardio should consist of 1 hour on your non-weight training days. When I was cutting I got great results by running for distance two days/week and sprinting on the third. Worked pretty well, just a matter of personal preference. Jump rope is good too, along with boxing is a GREAT cardio vascular workout.. If you get bored with running of course , good luck..

I find a 20 minute walk, on an incline at 4.5MPH, 5 days a week accompanied by a 40-60 minute work-out is working great for me.

thanks for the warm welcome all.

    Yes, treadmill from Fitness Depot.

I'm getting back to working out as well after a 6 month lazyness break.

This is my plan: 2-3 sets in the 8-10 rep range
    Monday: Chest + Back
    Tuesday: HITT Cardio on treadmill
    Wednesday: Shoulders + Bis
Thursday: 20 minute light-med jog or uphill walk
    Friday: Legs and Tris
    Sat: HITT Cardio
    Sunday: Sleep =)

Hopefully i'll get back in shape for summer (well i have two months get lean and mean).

    So how's this look ?
