I am up to 35 lbs weighted chin-ups (palms facing towards each other) and progressing well every week but my pull-ups (palms facing away) haven't been gaining much...i'm still doing BW for those.
Right now I do them on the same day, but alternate which ones i do first every week. Here is what it looks like:
- Chins 5x5
- Shoulder exercise
- Pull-Ups 3x8
- Rest of shoulder routine...
Then the following week i do pull-ups first...
Are there any other exercises that will help out with my pull-ups?
work on your back and they will get stronger
Palms facing eachother is not a chinup. Did you mean palms facing toward you? Ive always found chinups to be somewhat easier because it involves more bicep into play. Theres really a lot of factors. None of them you should be worrying about. Just keep trying to progress. As long as you can do BW, youve got the foundation

You're probably just fatigued by doing the 5*5 earlier in the workout. They both many of the same muscles.

Negatives will help (where you go slowly on the way down). Iso holds as well.

You won't increase in strength in those exercises unless your doing them, or working on the stabilizers itself.
chins are always easier than pullups.
hows the progress coming, duderino?
keep up the good work!

Start with pullups every week. The hammer grip chins you are describing use a lot of bicep. I wouldn't bother doing two types of pullup/chin-up in the same workout.

yeah, just maybe switch between pull ups and chin ups each week or so

Negatives help quite a bit.
And unilateral movements that isolate the lats too.
