The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Who will win the 2008 Super Bowl?

Thank God the regular season is almost here. Who do you think will win it all? I'll post my brief preseason synopsis later this weekend when I have some downtime. Vote now! Poll closes on first day of the regular season (September 6th).

EDIT: Poll now up for use. I'm on the record with the Ravens.

Note: as with all things religious (yes, i consider football a religion), please keep all comments civil & respectful.

    Sadly, I selected the Patriots.

But Chargers vs. the Lions would be a dream Superbowl for me.

.....notice the word "dream". I'm actually praying for 8-8 from Detroit this year. Unfortunately, I looked at their schedule the other day, and couldn't identify 8 winnable games. But like every other schmuck in every other NFL city, each new year brings healthy players back from the dead, rookies who have matured, free agents, draft picks, and a whole lot of "reality distortion field".

I voted for "other." I would like to see the Minnesota Vikings win because they're my favorite football team. However, I think the San Diego Chargers have the best chance besides Payton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts.

Colts. they'll make the playoffs because they're in a somewhat weak division. once they're in the playoffs, peyton will be relaxed and great in the playoffs cuz he doesnt have a target on his back anymore. the only other team with about the same chance is the patriots. if you really think the broncos will win your gravely mistaken

Cool thanks for your opinion. Our defense is even better than it was last year. All our offense has to do is not **** things up and we'll be good.

    Giants... whoo hooo!!!!

I'm a Giant fan Blue and true... so I had to vote for them...

Reality sometimes slaps me upside the head though... and makes me realize that unless Eli becomes Peyton... and if O-Line doesn't at least become average... and if the Strahan retirement doesn't create issues... and if the coach doesn't find some happy medium with the players... then there is only a slight chance of making the playoffs. Ouch!! I hate reality...

If I had an extra grand laying around though.. I would probably bet on San Diego vs. the Eagles... with another grand on New England vs. Dallas as a backup plan...lol

    Go Giants!!

    Well said.

You guys don't realize how much better we've gotten this off-season. Not just the group of awesome free agents (Bly, Henry, Graham, Adams, Stokley) and not our new rookeis that should solve our biggest problem from last year (lack of pass rush) and not the fact that Cutler has some experience under his belt, and not because some returning players are coming back to beef up our special teams (Sauerbrun, Hixon), but the biggest improvement I think we've made: Jim Bates. No more stupid ass defense like we used to play. Jim Bates has our defense looking scary, just wait till the 3rd game of pre-season. We'll show off our new stuff there.

    Another for the Bears.

Shark, how'd you end up living in Green Bay and have the Vikings as your team? That's almost as bad as me living in New Mexico and liking the Bears when I was 4 lol

im not saying the broncos are terrible or anything.they already had great Defense the first few games last year. they're a playoff team but with do you think when it comes down to it, theycould beat the colts, patriots, or chargers in the playoffs??

i will gladly accept the i told you so if they do end up winning it all

Patriots - Definately. They just bend over and take it every time we play them.

Chargers - Not unlikely. We get plenty of practice against them, just whoever plays better.

Colts - I dunno. They lost a ton of there players, we gained a bunch. But the last two playoff games they humiliated us.

patriots - definitely beat the patriots in the regular season or a playoff game? they're 2 totally different teams. i know you beat them in the 05 or 06 playoff game but they had a lot of injuries and have added a lot of potentially game-changing players.

chargers - i dont wanna pretend like i know a lot about the chargers. but they're loaded with talent. Merriman gives me nightmares. i dont trust norv turner to get the most out of that team.

colts - we did lose a lot of players and mcfarland's out so my confidence in them is shaken. but who knows what Dungy will come up with.

you said you added a lot of players to your team. Sam adams is huge, but lazy. Brandon stokley will be out for the season by the first game. Dre' Bly was a good acquisition from wat happened to Darrent williams. Henry will do good cuz somehow denver can make my grandma a 1,000 yard rusher.
the offense depends on Jay cutler, he will probably do good

but overall it doesnt seem like you've gotten better enough to beat the chargers or the patriots, probably the ravens (no offense) and maybe the colts, depending on how well our rookies do....

The players they lost were replaced by first round draft picks from '04 and '05. In other words, they should be pretty damn good still. What hurts is that Bob Sanders is going to miss some season games due to surgery. The Colts' offense will be tested with having a rookieon the line this season, but still in great shape to make a run at repeating.

I actually picked the 9ers because they are greatly improved.

The pats and colts meet again in the playoff's the winner rolls on to beat either the bears or saints in the bowl.
The only reason I don't like the Pats to win is due to their tough schedule and players who seem to be prone to injury.
