The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Finally signed on to a gym!!!

So i have finally stopped lifting crappy weights at home and joined Gold's Gym today.

I went a bit crazy cause i had everything in front of me.

    I did flat Bench press : 4 reps with 154 lbs ( i suxors) Then 3 x10 with 132lbs
    Incline with 110 4x10
    Deadlifts 5x6 with 176 lbs
    Pullovers 4x8 with 66lbs (db)
lat pull down 5x8 with 110lbs
squats after deadlifts was stupid but i did them anyway couldnt resist that rack
i tried it with 176 lbs and i could only do like 3 LOL then finished by doing 3x10 with 132 lbs.

Man im happy i joined a gym, cause i know how much i truly need to workout. But it the serious journey begins here!!!

So you did squats, bench press and deadlifts all on the same day?

Goodness. I'm all for enthusiasm when joining a new gym but you may want to take it slow and split up some of those big compound movements on different days.

Do you plan to keep this routine the same way? How many days a week to you go to the gym?

You say you couldn't manage those last squats. Imagine that. Do you want to take a guess as to why or do we need to spell it out for you?

I you plan to start a "serious journey" as you say, you need a serious routine and nutrition plan. Take a look at the stickies in this section for guidance.

In the mean time get some rest and do some careful planning as to your approach. Take advantage of this site and ask plenty of questions. We are here to help.

According to Purdue University and PubMed, I am classified as an individual who subjects himself to "chronic peanut ingestion and consumption".

but wtf is up with those weird poundages you're putting up? i thought gyms in the US went by increments of 5 lbs other than for some dbs and 2.5 lbs plates.

Yes im in London UK, and we use Metric system now cause of EU and stuff. Anyways i joined it for a great offer cause this Gold's Gym is in a place where i know all the staff, i got two months free (worth 90 quid) so i only start paying in november and the rest of the 10 months is at 45 pounds a month. We got a sauna/jacousi. I just wish the free weights area was bigger instead of like 100000 machines everywhere left untouched. Anyways its all good taking a rest today cause i was meant to have my rest day yesterday but i worked my whole bodeh!
