    cramps

I had really bad cramps in my calves tonight. I was talking to a guy at the gym and he said I might not be getting enough electrolytes. Anyone want to expand on this? Just looking for help.

    Thanks.

Enough electrolytes? Pfft....I never consume electrolytes. I've heard it's from lack of calcium, but hell if I know.

Potasium sodium, calcium are a few. i can't think of any others right now. ca is a neurotrasmitter i believe, and Na and K work together, in a 2:3 or 3:2 ratio.

    Have a banana everyday.
It is high in potassium, and will help you out.
Im assuming you have enough calcium with your shakes...?

Yeah my legs and calves used to cramp up A LOT!!! But I eat a bananna a day and I don't cramp up any more. What sucks the most is when your in bed and out of the blue you get a cramp in your calf and you have to jump up quickly and walk it off, its a pain!

Nah. Not lactic acid. I drink a good 1.5 gallons of water a day.

I hadn't even worked my calves out when they cramped. I was just trying to warm them up...

Bananas, that's the ticket. Gotta replace the potassium every once a while.

For some reason Tonic Water is supposed to help. I have heard this on several occasions.

    I have so!

I'm starting to eat a banana a day. See if it has any effect next week.
