Is this wall just for the big three or will there be any other lifts accepted?

As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

    Kev- I'll fix that man.

Maki- This wall is just for the big 3. If everybody wants a odd lift sort of thing going I suppose it could be done. If that's the case though, we probably just ought to make another section of the forum for all these walls and video threads though.

Well put me down for a vote for a wall of odd lifts. It can get kind of boring just with the big three and all.

Haha alright. We had discussed this a bit in the suggestions forum. What it came down to, besides being a lot of work haha, was that we wanted to make sure this took off. We didn't want to start a couple of walls and not have any participation.

Seems like the participation is good so far. If we want to add a wall of olympic or odd lifts, though, then we should decide upon what should be included, and what the threshold weights should be for "clubs".

    Some that might make sense:
    Snatch
    Power Clean
    Clean+Jerk
    One-Arm Snatch?
    Good Morning?
    BW Pullups/Chinups?
    Parallel Box Squat?
    Strict Curl?

I don't think we have to do ALL of those. I was just throwing possibilities out there. In fact, that many might just be too burdensome.

Shouldn't Chris Mason's 635 DL be on the list?

It's a platform DL, but heck, that's 3 inches further then a regular DL...

I'm not going to go through the entire website and pick up videos that people have posted. In order for the lift to be on the wall, the person needs to post it in the video thread. There are quite a few big lifts that aren't on the wall because of this.

I think only Oly and Powerlifting should be included personally... virtually everyone does the big 3 anyways.

    Live2Lift's DL

I am no expert but your shoulder appear to be at the same level as your hips, think you could drop the hips a bit more. almost like an SLDL than a DL

Yea, I posted that video a while back asking for critique and that was the consensus that I needed to drop my hips and not jerk it up. I've been working on it since.

Getting better. Funny you ask actually cuz I made a breakthru this morning during my workout that shouldve been figured out already. This is gonna make me sound stupid, but oh well. I noticed today that when I step up to the bar I get it really close to my shins (like I should), and then bend my knees and grasp the bar. By already having it close to my shins I can only bend my knees so far and hence what looks like a SLDL. Today I decided to bend my knees first, grasp the bar then roll it in tight to my shins. By doing this I was able to get my hips much lower and come up without jerking the bar. Two birds, one stone.

Noticed it came up quite a bit easier too. I guess if I had less blood in my muscles and more in my brain when I work out I wouldve figured this out a couple months ago. Oh well. I'll keep working at it and maybe go for a new PR in a month or so.

Forgive me if this was already asked, but what is equipped vs raw?

Is raw the plates of weight, and equipped includes the weight of the bar?

Raw means that the lift was performed without the aid of lifting gear (ie. bench shirt, squat suit/briefs, etc.)

Equipped means that such gear was used.
