    Chest & Tris or Chest & Bis

    I'm a bit stumped here.

    Whether to do Chest and Tris or Chest & Bis. Same for Back and bis or Back and tris.

    Currently, I do Chest and Tris same day and Back/Bis on another day.

    Which do you believe will give better results? Which have given you better results?

    When doing chest and tris, your really giving your tris a good work out that day. If you do chest and bis, your essentially working out 3 body parts instead of 2 (chest, tris and bis).

    Opinions/Facts please?

    i could be wrong but from what i remember my fitness teacher telling me in high school was its best if you work one muscle group, the main muscle you want to workout that day the, "protagonist" muscle group then the antagonist right after it. lets say chest in this case, then work the "antagonist" (the muscle group opposite of the main muscle group you want to workout) muscle group and in the case of working your chest the antagonist muscle group would be your back muscle, same with your bis, the biceps antogonist muscle group is the tris, although i may be wrong thats what i was taught

    The rest of your routine would be helpful.

    You should think about having a chest day and then a back day, and let the arms take care of themselves.

    Don't do chest and bi's then back and tris. I would do both pushes on one day and both pulls on another. Actually I would and I do, do a Chest/back day, then a arm day. I like doing opposite muscles because of the sore and tight the next day. They seem to stretch each other making the sore not as bad.

    Try both and stick with what you like best it really doesn't matter.

    Train movements, not muscles. That's my advice.

    Preference. Also, just make sure that if your biceps are recovering, for example, that your back isnt on the next day. I like Chest and Tris, and Back and Bi's. Try them both. But remember to stick to the basic major exercises.

    My preference is chest + bi's, but that is because of how the rest of my routine is set up. So long as everything is getting enough rest before training that muscle again whether it's direct or not. I like to hit my biceps and triceps completely fresh though just like any other muscle.

    I like chest/bis because they will get hit again indirectly on my back day

    chest and tri's - back and bi's. Just because tri's get worked indirectly with the chest and vis versa with back.

    Chest and tris for me. The tri's are already prefatigued from the chest workout. The tri specific exercises only hammer them more.

    Try this. Deadlift day (sprinkle in some other ****), Bench day (sprinkle in some other ****), and Squat day (sprinkle in some other ****). Eat a steak a day and drink 8 litres of water. Get 10 hours of sleep a night.

    Pretty damn simple and quite effective if your goal is size and power.
