The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Anyone have an unexpectedly great workout?

I just got back from the gym and man... I felt like Hercules today. I went at about 8:30 for the first time ever, and I hopped on the bench press and felt like I could press a ton. I managed to do more than I have been doing (I am currently cutting). I figured I'd try it just to see how my strength is. I'm doing 1.1, so I do about 155 x 4-6 x 4, since I am on week 5. I decided to go for 185, and I did it with ease. I know 185 isn't much, and my max is 205, but I haven't tried to max it out in a few months so I was very happy with this. Just wanted to share, even if no one responds lmao.

Of course. And vise versa. Recently though, I've been throwing up PR's pretty much on every major lift and my weight hasn't really budged..

We all have those great days where you feel strong.

We also have those bad days where nothing works and you feel weak.

(We try to minimize the latter...)

Yankeekd, I personally think that you feel like you're on top of the world because you are currently leading all WBB members in the annual NFL Pick 'em contest!

I missed the first like 7 months this year because I was sick. I have been back for almost 5 weeks. This week I managed to my PR's for bent over rows, squats (ATF) and DL's. And i am only 20lbs away from my PR bench.... Its the best feeling in the world especially after such a long enforced lay off.

Shot for this thread, it feels good to be able to just say this...

This whole week has been awesome for me. I've been training hard for the last couple of weeks and it's really paying off.

I doubled 315 for the first time on bench press and got a single at 330 for the first time ever. I also squatted 385 for the first time and squatted my first set of five reps at 365. Last night I was just messing around and I bench pressed 225 for 15 reps for the first time as well.
    Bigger, stronger, faster, every day.

After 7 months off that's quite an accomplishment! Good for you, dude.

I had crappy workouts this week, but I feel like today will be great. Usually if I have some caffeine before hitting the gym I have a great workout and feel really strong.
