Barbell Bench Press arm spacing width?

I'm not exactly sure how far to put my hands apart from each other on the barbell when benching. I'm looking to be able to push the most weight possible, and I know powerlifters usually go pretty wide. Can you go too wide though? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, powerlifters tend to go wider compared to bodybuilders because there is less ROM which allows you to push out more weight. Heck, even Markus Ruhl benches with, IMO, a even wider grip then powerlifters. I consider my index fingers on the rings to be the widest it can go before it becomes slightly uncomfortable. This will vary on the individual as certain people will have longer arms.
