The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    The Bako Shake

Don't have any protein powder? Don't wanna spend hundreds of dollars on weight gainers? No worries.

This is my shake recipe. It helped me gain 15+ lbs in one month.

    2,500 calories / 100g of protein

    1 cup peanut butter
    3.5 cups milk
    1 cup vanilla ice cream
    2 tbsp olive oil

There you have it. A day's worth of calories in one shake.

Comes out to about 40 ounces.

It's not that bad. A cup of peanut butter scares a lot of people. If you wanna be a wuss about it, try 1/2 a cup.

It's about as thick as a McDonalds milk shake.

Don't try drinking it all at once. You'll probably die.

That's a beastly shake but a 1 cup of natty PB costs A LOT more than weight gainer or protein powder.

PB and milk are some of my most expensive food purchases, and I get those at costco.

I enjoy PB far too much to liquify it, I gotta taste every bite. But some people seem to love it. I will not have a "shake" unless it's oreo based, lol.

From a cost stand point your probably better off with a weight gainer or protein mix.

The Bako shake (dubbed "the heart stopper") is no joke. I gained 10+ lbs in a month with the addition of the heart stopper to my diet.

What constitutes too much fat? Are you basing that statement off of percentages, a total number per day? Adam, your shake is actually pretty similar (if you 2.5 X's it as balko).

Personally I think they both look horrible and I would rather get more protein and carbs per 1000 calories, but it's not that it's going to make much of a difference as long as calories are the same.

I guess natty peanut butter would add up to a lot of money. That's why I buy Jiffy in bulk.

    Whatever, don't flame me, lol.

ps - Any shake with less than 1/2 cup of peanut butter is not a "Bako Shake". It's just a wannabe shake.
That's f'n great Bako. Any idea what the sodium content is? If it's over 2g, I might just down this bastard before my next meet.

the only thing i changed was i only used half a cup of ice cream and added a scoop of whey. approx. same cals just more protein and less bad fat, only 2.5g but still, its an extra 30g of protein so i think thats a pretty good trade. you could literally put any flavour of protein in it and not notice that its there, theres just so much peanut butter lol.

I didnt own a single utensil or cup for my first 9 months of grad school, I ate everything straight out of the blender. Now that's classy when you have friends over.

Nobody's flaming you bako, I think everyone appreciates you putting up your idea's. Just giving alternate choices.
