Is their a maximum amount of grams of protein you should put in your system at one time.
Or does it not matter if its 24g or 124g? Just making sure so I won't hurt my kidneys or anything from too much protein
Too much protein leads to kidney problems (excess protein turns into ammonia), but I'm not sure if it matters how much you take in at once.
I would try to keep it fairly even thruout the day. 30-50g per meal. But, don't worry too much about it. The key is to get it in your system all day, not just at once.
how much is "too much"?
do you think your body magically digests everything right away when you eat it?
3 hours after a meal when you go to grab some more chicken or a shake you're still digesting your last meal
short answer: I wouldn't worry about it

Another thing you should consider if you are consuming a lot of protein at once is the type of protein you are consuming.
Protein consisting of complete animal cells, i.e. meat, contains a lot of "purines" which are metabolised in the body to release uric acid and high levels of uric acid in the body causes gout (an incredibly painful joint condition).
Milk derived protein, such as protein shakes, doesn't contain purines and won't give you gout when consumed in high doses.

To the poster - get your protein in everyday. Whatever your goal in grams is, just get it in. If you miss it one day, make up for it by the end of the week. Don't worry about ammonia or sulfates or whatever it is that's gonna kill you if you eat too much protein. Eat a lot of red meat, eggs, and milk. Get your grams in and stay hydrated. I bet you'll get huge. SFW!

No limit really. I get horrible gas from taking in too much whey at once.

I agree that people may say that too often. But it is not uncommon knowledge to know that there is absolutely no limit to the amount of certain macronutrients you could eat at one time. Of course it's not going to be used for tissue repair but your body is far too efficient to "pee" it out as some people seem to beleive (if your peeing protein you need to see a doctor immediately)
There has never been a study done that shows Protein intake to CAUSE kidney damage in healthy adults. If you have kidney disease that's a different story.
And dietary intake is pretty much never a cause for gout unless your body is improperly processing uric acid (making your bodies abnormality the problem and not the dietary intake).

Oh man, I have gout...and let me tell you...it is very painful. I've only ever had one flare up...but it lasted 2 weeks...so bad I thought I broke my toe. Wondering though...Docs say to stay away from Tuna...I hate THAT! I LOOOOVE Tuna...used to eat it right out of the pouch (much better than canned). Anyone else here A) Have Gout?...and B) Stopped eating / Or still currently eating Tuna?....what are your experiences?

Is there any problem with consuming protein and NOT working out? Will this cause fat? Or is it still better than not consuming those extra calories?
your body will utilize protein for energy if it is not needed for muscle repair. If it is not needed for energy then it will be stored as fat.
There is tons of other biological functions that require protein besides muscle repair.
