Is pre-med an official 4 year degree at your college? How set are you for Med School? Molecular bio is pretty cool, im doing a masters right now and all my research focuses on molecular subtyping methods for foodborne pathogens

Good to see you have your career on track, along with your weights.

There is no official pre-med degree...its basically any major that fulfills the prerequisites for medical school. In my case , it's biology. Some people are chem, biochem, etc. and then take the extra courses as their electives to fill the requirements.

Yea I think doing research would be very interesting, it just scares me that some guys have top level PhD's and make very little money doing research

Most PHDs i know live pretty comfortably, but certainly not on a salary close of a physicians. But to each his own, to me money is important but as long as Im living comfortably (like 60-70k+) i'll be happy. I am choosing the typical BS->MS->PHD->post-doc->job path since its basically a free education, hard to beat that

We ended up just goin to the gym since Sam and Tim are off this week for the meet. Yeah Im gonna head over, gotta support the crew !

    Today:

    Week 1 - Wave 2

    225 x 5
    240 x 5
    270 x 10

    2-board
    3 x 5 @ 295

    Rolling Extensions
    30 x 10
    40 x 12
    40 x 12

    Standing Cable Rows
    x 12
    x 12
    x 12

    Seated HS Rows
    70 x 20
    x 15

    Done.

Supposed to use 205 for my first set of bench, and I only got it for 10, as opposed to my last time of 11. But Im not stressing it, I'll set a rep PR next week and get back on track. Things are feelin good, and Im getting pumped for my meet in December.

Was good to be back liftin with the guys.

You did really well tonight and you forgot to mention I talked through your final set. New guy was pretty good. I don't remember his name, but I remember he smelled like gay and is your roommate.

Sick lift tonight. Tone came to help out, even though he didn't lift...which was huge. Had the best set of deadlifts I've ever had, and that was like a 50lb PR. Everything fell into place, and Im pretty freakin pumped about it.

Thanks again Tone, always appreciate the help and support. Even if I dont agree with your homosexuality.

It was an impressive set...till I realized it was only 350. LOL You looked tons better this week and I think if we can keep your knee together and switch you to sumo you're going to make really big jumps. You just look alot stronger that way. Gay new guy looked very impressive on deads for his first ever heavy week. I'd like to see how his training goes and maybe we can get him into a meet early next year. Finally, you don't really have a choice as to whether or not you like my homosexuality. I'm bigger. I will impose my will. You will only be allowed to squeal and enjoy it.

    November 5th
    Week 1 - Wave 2

    Standing OHP
    125 x 5
    145 x 5
    165 x 14 *PR*

    Dips
    5 x 10 @ BW + 25lbs

    Pullups Machine
    Wide-Grip
    1 x 10 @ -50lbs
    2 x 10 @ -70lbs
    Close-Grip
    2 x 10 @ -70lbs

First time using the pull-ups machine. Swallowed my pride, and used some of the weight to do some good old fashion pull ups. I'll work my way back up to body weight, and then adding weight. The OHP felt awesome, really on fire lately in the gym.
