The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Chest.

I am currently 16 years old and have been working out for a year.

I always have a hard time working on my chest/shoulder/neck day because my bench press is embarrassing.

I tend to put my maximum effort forward in arms, and they are huge for my age as a result.

I was just wondering a good routine to get my baby fat off my chest and start forming some pecs, etc.

    Currently do:

    Flat BB Bench
    Dumbbell Bench
    Flies

Consider your entire routine. At your age and experience, there is no reason to focus on one bodypart, focus on the system.

You'll be far better off in the long run.
    Squats work better than supplements.
"You know, if I thought like that, I'd never put more than one plate on the bar for anything, I'd never use bands or chains, I'd never squat to parallel or below, and I'd never let out the slightest grunt when I lift. At some point in your lifting career (assuming you're planning on getting reasonably strong and big), you're going to have to accept that most people think you are some kind of freak." -Sensei

to really see your muscles lifting only helps to a certain extent, you need to lose fat to see your muscles. Also i would start with a routine that has deadlifts and squats, they will make you grow all over your body, try a beginner routine, as you work your back and chest more and worry less about your amrs your arms will e bigger and your chest and back will be much bigger.

    "deadlift if you know"- myself
    Boxing/ working out 5 days a week!
    6'1"- 230lbs-and bulking till i can't stand the mirror
Former fatass- whent from 302lbs to 207 lbs rippling 05-06
    bench 315
    deadlift 455
    squat 405
    big 3 total = 1175 lbs of RAW IRON!!!MUAHAHAHAHAHA

ya man i was in the same boat as you for a while. Everybody tells me that my arms are much larger and unproportional to my chest and probably still is a little. I never was very good at bench press and i think i was maxing out at about 145 about 4 months ago. I then heard someone tell me to start squating and deadlifiting like the guy above me said and my bench has increased to about a max of 170 now which i feel is pretty good. So deff start doing more legs and back and the bench will come.
    Age - 17
    Height - 6'1
    Weight - 165

    Max
    Bench-175
    Deadlift-275
    Squat-250
