i notice when i bench or curl i get a stinging pain in my left wrist. has anyone had this problem. it just started hurting one day that i hadnt even lifted. would taping up my wrist before workouts help at all? thanks.
maybe your wrists aren't strong enough yet to support the weight. are you new to weightlifting? I feel soreness in my wrists sometimes when I increase with bench.

i have been lifting about 3 months. 6'2 185lbs. how would i increase wrist strength?
Mine used to kill me when I first started...After bulking for a while, it went away. Mainly just focus on lifts and the forearm strenght will come. I also did wrist curls for a while in the beginning to try to speed up the process (dont know if it helped or not).
Like any injury, you should get it checked out by the doctor.
- Farmers walk
- Wrist curls
- Those springy things
Perhaps also drop your weight in bicep curls and do slow controlled ones. Often people are using their back to lift the bar which kinda defeats the purpose.
im not sure if it is a major injury just some soreness from lifting heavy(well what is heavy to me)Like any injury, you should get it checked out by the doctor.
yeah i have been lowering all the weight i do on bicep curls.
BTW, this thread belongs in the "General Health" forum.
I have the same thing and use wrist wraps to limit range of motion...it helps alot.
Along with a steady diet of fish oil and Glucosamine and Chondroitin..
I also don't preacher curl anymore ..or any exercise that puts too much strain on my wrists for that matter.

I work out because I have two daughters.....and one day they'll be teenagers.
