The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    leg progression: how quick?

Hey guys, just wondering how fast you can progress on legs? i had an injury, and just started to really do legs in my workout. i was doing hack squats for a month, and just started regular squats tonight. i did 135, with my butt almost to the floor for 8 reps. i was pretty tired after this, maybe could have put on more weight, but i did 2 sets like this. it felt pretty pathetic compared to my other lifts. how fast can i expect to go up in weight on an exercise like this?
    thanks.

I was in the same boat as you. I had a right compound fracture on my lower leg (bone came thru the skin) which I have a woman who can't stay in her lane that hit me head on to thank for it. Anyways I started doing bodyweight work a month after walking (around june) and then did hack squats and leg press for a while and just started back on squats last week, before injury I could rep 255 but now 185 was heavy for me. It just takes time. What was your injury anyways?

i shattered my ankle, and had to have two reconstructive surgeries done on it, but im putting all that aside, and going full out on my squats from now on. also, is it true that your other lifts will go up because of squats?
    thanks.

Very true, also start deadlifting if you arent by now. I know it's not a direct leg movement but my quads and hamstrings gained from doing them when I couldn't load up on squats.
