could all thes carb ups and insulin spikes lead to diabetes
we know sugar causes hardening of the arteries but its good for bodybuilding when taking a post workout shake, how much sugar is too much for a days total how much could cause diabetes how much can screw up your arteries?

First point: I am HIGHLY skeptical that the amount of simple high-gi sugar in a post workout meal is enough to cause diabetes, even over a long period of time. Even if you have 100g of sugars in the shake. The rest of the day, insulin levels are usually very stable. The insulin also does not last that long, which is why you should eat your meal an hour and a half or so after your post workout meal. It would take a huge amount of sugar in a day to cause diabetes, most people who get diet-induced diabetes (or it is at least this man's impression) drink a few sodas a day, have some candy, sugar on cereal, and are constantly dripping the crap into their bodies. Bodybuilders, for the most part, have a centralized period of time in which they carb up or spike insulin intentionally.
