Need help with a few Deadlift questions

I have a few questions regarding deadlifts.

    1. Which form is best suited for lower back training, sumo or traditional?

    2. Do you let the bar rest on the ground before counting that as a single rep?

    3. I have pretty short limbs. Would using a trap/shrug bar be effective instead of a straight bar for doing deads?

    Please help me out here!
