    will pushups save me?

    my wife just had a heart procedure (pacemaker defibrillator) put in so i am taking few weeks off work to take care of her and the kids. my problem is that i work out when i am at work. i dont have alot of free time out side of that. i waqs on pace to go for 340 bp dec. 9 but i will not be back to work until at least jan. 1. do you guys thinks if i do an insane amount of pushups at home that i will lose much or maybe stay the same.thanks

    "a few weeks off" may be pushing it, but you'd probably get back to where you were after a week/maybe two

    I don't really think pushups will do much for you...they're more endurance oriented than strength

    now if you buy some rings and do ring pushups and maybe find a way to do hand stand pushups...might be a different story

    cant you put weight on your back?
    I believe that when the body is strong, the mind thinks strong thoughts. Time spent away from the Iron makes my mind degenerate. I wallow in a thick depression. My body shuts down my mind.

    Try doing pushups with a backpack full of heavy books/weights.

    What about one-armed pushups? Make sure to spread your legs so you don't fall over.
