The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

How is your flexibility in your hip flexors? I used to get lower back pain all the time and once i improved my hip flexors it stopped bothering me.

My pain was a bit different though, it was at the same spot but after feeling super stiff/hard for a day or so I'd start to get shooting pain for a day or two.

Honestly, I have no clue. How would I improve my hip flexors? Lunges or something?

I just got back from my Doc's office to follow up on my xrays. On the report it says:
    LUMBAR SPINE:
There may be some very minimal disc space narrowing at L5-S1 but this may be within normal limits for this level. Disc spaces are otherwise well preserved. No fracture or malalignment is demonstrated.

Sooo he gave me a referral to a physiotherapist. Back with more info later!

Thanks, I'll be curious to see what he says.

My backs definitely been feeling better this week but I can still feel tightness when I walk alot or bend over multiple times, which a 19 year old guy should not be feeling. I'm probably going to go back in this week and ask for an MRI just to be safe.

Sorry I'm late to the party again. I don't really have any pain so much as just a heavy sensation in my lower back. The only time I get pain and stiffness is when I sit on the edge of a chair for awhile or situp for extended periods without my back supported.

Fuck, fight, or hold the light.

So did you ever have anything done about the bulge chub or did you just take a few weeks off?

Luckily mine wasn't all that severe. Once those muscles in my lower back healed up I went back to lifting. I no longer pull heavy and squat heavy in the same weak, and I only pull heavy from the floor once every 5 weeks or so. It's fairly easy to aggravate it, so I have to be careful.

I have the same thing OP. I get it from running and deadlifts, but after running it goes away. I'm going to try training my abs a lot more.

Is it only on one side or in the middle? Sounds like where I get the pain but mine is only on my right side. Mine hurts most when squatting heavy but not so much when deadlifting

Hey sorry for bumping an old thread, but i guess its better than starting a new one.
This is the kind of pain i am suffering, my muscles are super tight and stiff, and if i bend the wrong way i get shooting pain that makes me wince. Its not all the time or that often, but sometimes i get it after i had been putting alot of hard work in.

How did you, or how would someone, improve the flexibility to help this?
