The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Legs Shake

When I do my leg extension, my legs shake pretty bad.. No matter what weight I use, they still shake.

    Anyone know why this happens?

As opposed to doing leg extensions, which are worse for your knees?

I would say a squat.. If I bent my knee too far it will pop out, then I have to do a kick motion for it to go back in..

Leg extensions are fine.. Except my legs shake alot when I do them.

What are you talking about? If you bend your knees too far they pop out? Have you seen a doctor about this?

redspikeything wasn't asking which exercise was worse between squats and leg extensions, he was saying leg extensions were probably worse for your knees

Reach down between your legs and find a pair of balls. That's what it takes to lift big weights. Genetics is the weak man's excuse for why he sucks at life. Don't be that guy - RhodeHouse

    Nope, no insurance for that.

I thought he was asking me, because there is a ? at the end of the sentence.

Rhetorical question. Squats are better for your knees that leg extensions. It's been talked about a lot and proven in scientific literature. If your knees are "popping out" when you squat then you need to see a doc. Do they do this with little/no weight on your back?

I havent tried a squat. I may try them as I read on how to do them. My thighs should be parallel to the floor. Right? If so I should be able to do them. If I were to squat all the way down, my knee may pop out. Then Id have to do a kicking motion to get it back in. Then Im down for a few days do to stiffness in the knee.

What are you talking about? Has a doctor seen you for this freakish knee injury?
    Squats work better than supplements.
"You know, if I thought like that, I'd never put more than one plate on the bar for anything, I'd never use bands or chains, I'd never squat to parallel or below, and I'd never let out the slightest grunt when I lift. At some point in your lifting career (assuming you're planning on getting reasonably strong and big), you're going to have to accept that most people think you are some kind of freak." -Sensei

Please see a doctor. I don't care if you don't have insurance - a dislocated knee needs attention.

No I havent tried a squat. From watching videos, they look like they go down too far for me. A safe squat for me would be having my legs go no further than a 90 dagree angle. Anything more Id be afraid of my knee poping out.
A simple sitting on my knees with your butt sitting on your feet would make my knee pop. Doing a stretch where you bring your leg up behind you and grabbing your foot pulling it towards you would make my knee pop.

Years ago it use to be just a "pop" sound when kneeling down. but the last couple years, its been poping out.

Sorry for bursting out at you earlier.. This is 100% not BS.

Again, what does that even mean?

Go see a doctor, and stop training your legs if you have an injury. Come back and tell us what injury the doctor diagnoses.
