My friend says that cleans don't do anything.
I mentioned that I wanted to start doing cleans sometime and he said power cleans will work your back a little bit but thats all. He said that hangcleans do nothing. He is a huge know it all who thinks that bench is king and that he is always right.
His workout yesterday consisted of
Flat bench 9x3
Close grip 5x5
Lat raises 5x(dunno reps)
Pull downs 5x "
one armed DB rows 5x
Hammer curls 5x
Lasted over 1 1/2 hours. Sure he is strong, but not as strong as he should be for how long he has been working out. He has three years more experience than me but he isn't that much stronger than me.
Example of his know-it-all attitude: I see a guy that isn't very big but moving serious weight on bench.
I ask him what he does.
He tells me.
I explain it to my friend.
He says lets get the program from him (we had been looking for a new program)
I give it to him.
He doesn't follow it AT ALL.
He also insists that there are 3 different muscles in your chest and that thats why you have incline, flat, and decline.
He turns his nose up at deadlifts and whenever we do them its because I insist on it. (I think it might be because I can do more than him.)
He has been working out for about 4 years and when I brought up the term "hypertrophy" he didn't know what it meant.
SOOO, now that ya'll know his personality a little bit, how do I go about telling him that he is wrong?
