    eccentric bar speed

For raw lifting is it better to bring the bar down fast for benching or slow, medium? Do you think it makes much of a difference for your max lift?

Also thoughts on squats eccentric speed. I know Olympic lifts are done fast. Curious to everyone thoughts, obviously you use control during the whole lift.

    Hopefully Vinny will give input.

For a ME lift I always like to be in control. If you cant control it on the way down, chances are your not going to on the way up.

As long as you stay tight, go down as fast as you want. My guess is, you get looses as soon as speed picks up.

For the squat - go slow. Not ridiculously slow, but keep it under control. Gravity is still pulling down on the bar when you want to reverse it. The slower you come down the easier it is to stop and reverse.
