Nice squattage "that guy". Good to hear your getting the hang of low bar, since its the best (hehe). Also you got guts for going hook grip, thats one thing I cannot do.

Thanks duder. Lowbar doesn't bother my shoulders but it has bothered my wrists and hands in the past.

Thanks bud. Yeah low bar is way better, your center of gravity is more stable. Hook grip at the weight I used it was no big deal, I'm sure heavy deads will be a different story.

Thanks jed. I forgot you don't squat super high yet. Why is that? Just not something you focus on? I know you have the potential to squat big, you're the boy wonder after all.

Thanks dude. Heh, not sure what to make of your 2nd comment. Yeah Mercenary is awesome. It's sweet that their current singer is their former bass player. How often does that happen?

Heh, yeah, when I wrote that, I reread and said to myself "That was written poorly." But I left it. You just blew me away, since you were expecting 315 and got all the way to 335.

Damn, nice Squat PR, bro! Blew that one away for sure, lol. Low-bar rules and does indeed make it easier to stay together in the hole. Also good stuff on those rows, damn. Strength is coming together everywhere. You need to find a way to get some vids or pics up in this place, man!

Congrats on the squat PR that is great lift. Man everyone is maxing out their squats latley thats a good thing.
Success is achieved by doing a little more than you thought you could, and a lot more than anyone else.

Thanks for dropping by Dirk. I always kind of mutter "Durka durka" to myself whenever I see one of your posts. Thanks for the congrats. Low bar is definitely the way to go, the center of gravity thing is awesome and makes it easier to focus on pushing the weight up.

Whats up K, thanks for the kudos bro. I'm getting there. If I could stay consistent I'd be better off by now but what can you do. Yeah we're probably going to be buying a video camera for when the baby comes, so once I get that I'll start taping here and there. Assuming my pansy gym allows it.

Hey no offense intended bro, you know I wish I was as strong as you. Narrow stance squats kill me. I can definitely do more with my wide stance.

Warmup: 5 minutes on elliptical, stretching

    Playlist:

Hatebreed - Perseverance, Satisfaction is the Death of Desire
Children of Bodom - Follow the Reaper

    Bench:

    bar x 10
    70 x 5
    115 x 5
    135 x 2
    165 x 2
    185 x 2 (2 rep PR)
    185 x 1 (missed 2nd rep)

I took borracho's advice and tried something a little different than my normal warmup-and-3x5 routine. I doubt I'll do this every time but it was nice to finally lift something halfway respectable.

    Rack pulls:

    135 x 5
    185 x 5
    225 x 5
    (add chalk) 275 x 5
    315 x 5
    365 x 2
315 x 1 (for a static hold, not sure how long)

Either I wasn't doing these right or I just don't like them. I'll stick with deads, I think that other than grip getting off the ground is my weak point, not locking out.

    DB incline press:

    50s x 3 x 5

Fine. I'll go for 55s next time.

    Fat Chinups:

    BW x 3 x 5

    REAL Chinups:
    1 (really more of a "nose-up)

    These are coming along.

    HS dip machine:

    warmup stuff
    180 x 3 x 5

    Fine.

Decent overall workout. I haven't been as consistent in the gym as I've had a lot going on with other life stuff, but that is settling down.

Sticking with deads as opposed to rack pulls is not a bad idea...upper body effort is nice guy.

Thanks Coke. I still think maybe I was doing it wrong, but really I just need to focus on deads for a while. I'm going to deload on them and build my strength up. I think skipping ahead to 315 so quickly a few months ago was a bad move on my part. I've been stuck there since then.
