I went up to Swift Current this weekend to spot/load and help two of my training partners a bit. I ended up benching even though I wasn't planning on it. I had done a heavy bench workout on Friday and set a nice PR on Saturday!

I borrowed a loose fury (compared to my regular gear) and only had time for 1 warm up rep in it (to a 1 board) before it was time to get on the platform.

1st attempt: 145kg -- smoked it
2nd attempt: 157.5kg -- it was hard
3rd attempt: 171kg -- a big grinder but I got it!

I took the provincial 100kg bench only record from one of the guys who I train with (and he basically coaches me). Another guy I train with got his national qualifier this weekend and one of the girls I train with missed her master's total by 10kg.

All in all, it was a great weekend!
