The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Deadlift PR tonight

So I decided to go in and try to max out on deadlifts. I've never done an actual max rep. I had lifted 325x5 recently, but tonight I hit 405x1. I was so stoked! Just felt like sharing....nobody else would understand....they'd be like, "dude, why do you do deadlifts?"

I cant wait till I get 4 plates on. 3 plates looks pathetic, 4 makes a statement! Im only 40 pounds away!

I wont be happy until I can sit on the plates to rest.

Hahaha, I've been doing that lately. Too lazy to go find a chair or bench to sit on.

Well done sir. I'm not even close but it probably feels sweet having people watch the strong guy doing the "weird" lift. Gotta love the "sitting on plates for rest" quote too.

good work. I hit a PR of 180 kilos (more or less 400) last fri (sumo). But I had 4 x 25K and 2 x 20k plates so I didnt get that 4 plate chunk on each side - just 3 and some 10s. Not that it matters in any way. 400 pounds is 400 pounds whatever it looks like.
