    flu

I had the flu last week, and the fever, chills, sore throat, and all those other flu symptoms ended last Wednesday or Thursday, but I'm still feeling nauseous after every meal and just generally crappy. Should I go to the gym today? The flu can't relapse can it? I feel like maybe these crappy feelings are just from having had the flu, not eating well, and not working out, and that a good workout will speed up the recovery process. But, at the same time, I'm worried that working out is going to prolong these lingering effects. Anyone have any advice?

The Iron never lies to you. The Iron will always kick you the real deal. It never freaks out on me, never runs. Friends may come and go, but 200 pounds is always 200 pounds - a warm-up.

I think you should wait until you have fully recovered.

I wouldn't workout. Just stay at home, eat, and rest. I find that hot shower and and wearing lots of clothes to bed to sweat out all the bad stuff really help. It's just your body's way of telling you that you need to step back and take a time out.

Your lifts might go down but don't worry about it. Work your way back up again after you're feeling better and I'm sure you'll come back stronger.

I thought that a light workout is actually good for immune function? increases lymph circulation among other things.

If you still feel like you might have a bit of the bug left, stay home. You'll just get yourself more tired and run down. And especially if you go to a public gym, it's not fair to other gym goers to possibly be getting flu germs on all the equipment.

Good point. No sense in spreading it around if you can help it.

I've tried working out before after just recovering from colds and such. I usually end up having a bad workout.
