    Need shoe recommendation

    What kind of shoes do you guys recommend for squats and deadlifting with?

    Just running shoes? Anything in perticular you look for in a shoe?

    I have heard that running shoes are not so good for squats and deadlifts, too squishy in the heels. I use cheap crosstrainiers without the gels and springs that come with running shoes for when I do deads and squats.

    None. I wear Shox to the gym, but then deadlift/squat barefoot. They are too high and the soles aren't stiff enough.

    Wrestling Shoes are great for DL's! Squats are more up to you and what is more comfy, some people wear Steal toe Boots, and other people wear more of a Basketball Shoe... Depends on what you feels right 4 you.

    I see lots of guys wearing converses.

    Thought I give it a try too since they're 20 bucks or so..

    black high top chuck taylors. if I didn't already wear chuck's, i'd opt for a pair of wrestling shoes.

    I use my boxing shoes. Anything with flat soles, boxing/wrestling shoes,chuck taylors and if possible I deadlift barefoot sometimes.
    January 07-164 pounds
