The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Those are some huge jumps. I try not to jump more than 10kg.

    Good luck at the meet!

Take food with you - something that has a good balance of carbs and protien that's easy to get down between lifts. I usually do granola bars and then some Nitrean/Gatorade mix. I've seen others do bananas and pb sandwiches.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

    Don't forget to drink.
Don't start your warm-up too soon (or too late)
Don't miss your opener (even if you have to go a little deeper, get it in and your other lifts will be easier).

having depth issues can be frustrating. When you do your first attempt, squat like you normally would, if you hit it, awesome, don't change a thing. If you get red lighted for depth, bring your feet in like an inch or two each side. Many guys when they get in a squat suit, naturally put their feet out farther than they would because the extra fabric between their legs. It tightens up the hips, but can make it harder to hit depth depending on what fed.

Like I said though, don't change a thing for your first attempt

thanks for the advice guys. i was advised to do 50 lb jumps from some guys at my gym...i'm just taking there word for it. the opener will be an easy lift for me. brent tracey (owner of cell block gym, a beast at 198) told me to bring my stance out a little bit, i did, and it helped a lot. i hit depth pretty easy. i haven't been training in my suit for that long, and at my gym i train at during the week my stance is confined a bit by a squat rack with a non-sumo base, i guess you'd call it. oh well, i plan on trying my hardest. it's okay even if i get all red lights, its not a total loss. i'm looking forward to it. i'll have some videos up for sure.

Have Fun Brother! Take the Attemps by the way you feel. I personal take a Big jump between my 1st and 2nd Attempt, Example: 565 to 605. I always hit my Oener in the gym 10 times before a Meet, that way when I get to the meet, I'm 110% Positive I can get it! It takes a lot of pressure off you when you get your first lift! Good Luck bro!
