How long have you been training?

How much do you squat? (for real, not some bs internet high bro its all you squat)
    Squats work better than supplements.
"You know, if I thought like that, I'd never put more than one plate on the bar for anything, I'd never use bands or chains, I'd never squat to parallel or below, and I'd never let out the slightest grunt when I lift. At some point in your lifting career (assuming you're planning on getting reasonably strong and big), you're going to have to accept that most people think you are some kind of freak." -Sensei

What i do is muscle groups that work together. Such as bench works with shoulders, chest and triceps, So i would work all of those on monday and on tuesday i do biceps back and forearms, which also work together. That way you get the maximum work and maximum rest as well.

I used to do that and on paper/in theory it looks great but then you realize that isolating certain muscle groups is practically impossible, for instance your shoulders get hit on on rowing/vertical pulling as well as various presses. Same for quads and hams, although pushing movements with the legs are supposedly quad dominant, hamstrings are involved as well.

To the op, i think an upper/lower split 2x a week is highly effective but make sure you can recover from it, especially if you are squatting, deadlifting, pressing, and rowing/vertical pulling. The 2 off days (the weekend) are much needed.
