The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Does anyone know anything about those electric ab machines on tv?

I'm always seeing these commercial of these guys that look like do situps all day but never touch a dumbell advertising those pads you stick on your stomach or elsewhere and are supposed to work you out.
It looks like total BS to me but I'm just wondering if anyone out there has tried it seen any results?

They are total B.S. If you want to see your abs you need to diet and work them once or twice a week.

electro muscle stimulation does seem to work for some athletes as an adjunct to weight training but you'd need to spend about 2000 dollars on a med-quality machine in order to have any benefit whatsoever. The ones you see on tv don't offer a high enough contraction or enough individual seetings to even be worth the money. They are el-junko.
Some guys have all the luck.
Some guys have all the pain.
Some guys get all the breaks.
Some guys do nothing but complain.

You spend about 5 minutes takin it outa the box and plugging all the pads n wires in.You do a 30 minute session on it,another 5 minutes packing it all away again, and after all that you prolly get the same benefit as maybe 20 sit ups. What the hells the point. Those things are for making people who are too lazy to get off their arse and actually get in shape, feel better about themselves.

Those things are so ridiculous, i'd rather use it as a torture device. Hahah, I'd put it on someone faces and laugh my a** off as they feel the pain.

American cars are like fat people, sure, they have a lot of power, but they're not built well, and they have all that useless weight, plus they make both make funny noises.

Thanks for the light on the subject guys, I wasn't going to consider getting one unless I heard a whole lot of positive things about them, which I'm not so I'll just keep up the sit-ups

What kind of rep/set scheme you doing when you are doing these sit-ups?

Do some resistance training for your abs and make them grow...

I've heard they actually have a few lawsuits pending on false advertising terms (this is unconfirmed however).

Other companies (or maybe the same one), actually remarketed the same thing to be used as a massager...

I like the idea of strapping it to people's faces. It sounds like tying a sack of rats to a guy's head after feeding him..uhh..rat food.
