Its not the best situation, my parents alway try to make it sound like Im strong because of god etc. Even if I competed on Saturday, I would just be setting my self up for failure because I feel I would be doing wrong....

Il find meets on different days, its just not as easy.

I'm going to direct my good friend and training partner John Bernor to this thread. He just signed up here this week. He is probably the strongest Christian you will ever meet(both physically and spiritually). He works as a youth Pastor and knows the Bible well. Your parents are right, you have a gift from God. It would be a shame to not share that gift with others.

What religion are you? What would be the problem with competing on Saturday?

There's a guy from Saskatchewan who doesn't do competitions on Saturday's either. He follows the 7th day adventis church.

Judaism would be one religion that would, but I have researched it and weightlifting is not considered work.

Im in florida to, I didnt compete this year because I got a pec injury and shin splits a few months ago so I wouldnt be able to compete at my best.

Next year I plan to take states as a SHW, I dont even do cleans and I can get 280 with a push press, if i could get my form down on clean and jerk I could probably get up to 405 next year.

Or i may just be talking out of my ass.....

Did he get injured or anything to stop him from going up in weight?

I don't think he has done a standard raw squat cycle since then. He usually squats in gear first(with or without bands) and then does pause squats(raw/no belt) afterwards(weekly). He has squatted 1110@308 in competition in full gear since then. I think if it was what he wanted to do, he could do a raw squat cycle and hit a monster raw squat(well over 800).

Thats to bad, 720x5 walked out without a belt or wraps is more like 765x5 with them, and thats well over 800lbs.

man, if you don't try football, you're selling yourself short. With your raw strength and size, you could easily push defensive linemen around like ragdolls. At least give it a shot and see how it turns out...I guarantee you could play D1 just based on your strength. Who knows, 5-6 years from now we could be seeing you on Sundays in the NFL.

no one can play d1 football just on strength alone, but there is tremendous potential here.

I would compete if I could find meets that aren't on Saturday, (to answer why) I have church on saturday and somewhere it in the bible it says Im not supposed to do any work on the 7th day. Its the way I was raised so I cant disown my faith to go to a meet.

Theres no way around the Saturday thing, I wish there was because I would be doing it
you say you havenot done a meet but what is this on bb.com in your sig
