The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Shrug Bar

I'm looking for a shrug bar that doesn't have raised handles. All the ones I'm seeing on the web have raised handles. Anyone wanna recommend a good retailer, online or a store, that carries them?

are you talking about the kind that you stand in the middle of? They are probably more comfortable but if you have an oly straight bar I would just save my money and use that in front and behind. Although they do look fun

That's it......thanks bro. I wanted to use it for shrugs, but it might be useful for pressing too. I've always been curious about pressing (bench and OH) with one of these bars and the rotated grip. One would think it'd work the muscles differently by alternating the grip when pressing?......I dunno

np man...but a warning I never used this site and know nothing about it as far as security. I would give them a call to get a feel for it before you volunteer your CC# and personal info. I dunno, I'm just over cautious with random sites.

I was searching for 'shrug bars', but 'trap bar' yields more results. Looks like elitefts has one. I'm going into town Monday and I'll check at a couple of the sports stores (Dick's, et al) to see if they stock them. Or I may just have the local steel fabricator make me one.

if you are looking at pressing with one, i would go for the swiss bar or football bar as it is sometimes called. be easier to rack and a little easier to work with as far as pressing goes.

Yea, but those don't look big enough in the middle to do shrugs and what-not. I'd probably be happiest if I sketched up what I wanted and had the local shop make it.
