How many reps= a solid pause?

For the guys that lift unequipped how many reps touch no go(not a huge bounce or anything stupid) per set with a certain weight should give one a good solid paused single? I recently hit around 300 for 5 reps and I may could have made another rep touch n go style and barely paused 315x1. I wanna hit 350 for a good solid single paused rep and was just wanting to know what you guys had experienced as far as this goes.

    Lookin strong Jeff!

Actually its different for everyone what exactly touch and go reps translate over to a paused bench. Best idea is to train the paused bench on your ME days. Looks like you might want to add in some 3 and 4 boards as well. Just keep at it Jeff, it'll come!

Solid lifting. Like Travis said, if you want to know how much you can pause, well then just pause and find out.

Your top end strength is pretty crazy. Once you get past the sticking point it just shoots up.

Thanks guys for the compliments. I'm figuring if I can get 3 solid t-n-g reps I should be able to pause the weight juding by my recent lifts. Really, I am just forward thinking for how many reps I want to be pushing 350lbs before Nov 29th.

Travis- when you recommended the 3 board above are you judging that by my sticking point? I do seem to have decent lockout capability for never really working that range beyond what I get from normal pressing. Maybe I should be in a shirt? One of these days maybe whne I get enough people to lift with me to help me put the stuff on.

haha I'm sorry Jeff, I was recommending a cambered bar off a 2 and 3 brd. I kinda forgot to add in the "cambered bar part"

It'll give you more strength off the chest.

I think you should atleast consider pausing many of your reps. It'll build strength off of your chest and it'll bring your paused and T&G #s closer together. Also, you wont have to worry about it in competition. Maybe you don't wanna do them all of the time, but maybe every other week or something.

yeah, I'd like to have me one of those cambered bars. maybe when my deadbeat brother starts paying his truck payment that I stupidly co-signed for I'll have enough cash to get me one of those.

I'll be throwing pauses in quite regularly but I wanna just train with tng for awhile just to build the extra push.
