    starting lifting again

    hey everyone, well i use to lift but not anymore, and i after i stopped i gained more weight, and now im over weight and i wanted to start weight lifting again to feel good and to look good, but idk wat to do cuz i got help last time and im not sure wat to do, i have a bar with some weight plates, and dumbbells, but im not sure wat i should do, so can some1 help me out wit this problem,and the dieting part too.

    oh yea im 16, i weigh 195, and im 5'7

    a lot of people swear by the Starting Strength program... I'd be doing it if I wasn't certain it would decimate my spine. It looks really challenging.
    Fitday is awesome, pay attention to the calories and such that it reports for each food item you add. I find that some are wrong but you can always make custom foods. Good luck bro!

    Ok, good. Now you've got a base of knowledge to work from. If I were you I would buy Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength, read it and follow it.
