anyone know how Ryan did this weekend? Pretty sure he competed
The plan was to take 700 on the second squat and 733 on the third, but he got redlighted so he had to take 700 again. Got all three benches, passed on a fourth. 644 opening deadlift, 678 second, and went for a 711 third (for a PR). Probably could have had 690-700, but he already had the 2000 total, so might as well go for a PR (that's my personal belief, anyway).
The judging was super strict with few exceptions. Kinda lame on the redlight, since the head judge gave the rack command, but the side judges redlighted for not having hips locked out. Charles Bailey missed one bench because his fingers were outside the rings. Sure that's a redlight, but you can tell him before he starts lifting, or at least redlight him before he brings it all the way down to his chest.
Congratulations to the gigantic Scott Smith with a 1000-something KG total at 275, best heavyweight lifter. Excellent lifting
Nice work Ryan!!!
