The people were between 60 and 78, there's no way in hell you can translate this study to a young powerlifter or bodybuilder. At that age the ibuprofen was probably helping with muscle soreness a ****load and the group taking the actual drugs could probably work out better.
This study wasn't done with only ibuprofen either, they also used acetaminophen.
Ibuprofen is an NSAID which can actually delay/inhibit muscle growth. I would definitely NOT say this study provides strong evidence that ibuprofen can instead actually increase muscle growth.
A lot of guys I know take a few on game day.
in older adults it has validity... wouldnt happen with a younger adult. My guess is because of the chronic inflammation that happens as you get older.
somewhat what I eat...
I lifted today 200 6X for the first time today. I think I pulled a muscle in my back. Nothing major it just aches when I push my elbow behind my back. I took two ibuprofen for it and it didn't do much after a few hours. Then i took glucosamine and it worked like almost right away.
I know you're half-crazy, but I wish you'd go all the way.

Out of the night that covers me,Black as the Pit from pole to pole,I thank whatever gods may be for my unconquerable soul. In The fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance my head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears looms but the horror of the shade And yet the menace of the years finds, and shall find, me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate how charged with punishments the scroll,I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.
