The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

With a good routine, dedication, and attention to diet it's not particularly uncommon for a teen to put on 60lbs within a year.

I went from 140 to 215 in less than a year and a half. You'll hit 200, 10 pounds a month is actually a pretty fast pace.

Ten pounds a month and your gonna be a fatty fat-fat boy. 20-30 lbs at that pace would be okay, you'll put on fat but you'll still be swoll and look good if you're working hard enough. But if you take that over a span of more 60 lbs, it's not gonna be pretty.

But I know where you're coming from, if I go on a bulk it's a crazy fast one. I gained 17lbs in a month a while back.

My advice is don't go faster than 2 lbs / week.

1.5 / week would be good if you're in it for the long haul.

I went from 145 to 200lbs within 10 months or so so yes it's definitely possible. You just have to eat a TON, lift heavy, and avoid intensive cardio. I'd recommend doing it a bit more slowly than I did, however. If you gain that fast a lot of it will be fat.

I have a friend that went from 181 (junior year in high school) to about 240 in 6 months. He was not fat either. He had about 380 bench press and a 500lb squat.

When I was 20, I weighed about 110 lbs, and could bench about 65 lbs. Now I'm 29, weigh about 150 lbs, and my bench is right at 200.

If I can do it, anybody can. I'm getting no help from genetics!

Something like that yea lol. I don't know if that is really cool or really bad. Weight gains/losses isn't rocket science for me lol. I just have to find a spot and keep it haha.

It isn't really that changing the routine is good/bad for you, but changing the paramaters of the routine than helps. Otherwise you stall out because your body gets used to what you are doing.

Granted I have been on and off with lifting since 2002 I have gone from 170 to 240. Surely you can do 150 to 200.

Fun part is my appetite is starting to become more and more submissive to my desires. Lane is doing his BB stuff (still can't figure out why) then he wants to catch up to my weight so I have to set him a nice target at the end of july. Gonna be a fun time!

Switching routines doesn't always help. You just need to find a routine that works for you. What works for some, might not work for others.
