Glenn Ross, weighing in at 441 pounds, bombed out of today's BPC British Championships in Bournemouth, England. Ross, competing raw, squatted 793 and benched 573 pounds before missing three attempts at an 837 pound deadlift.
The battle between two of powerlifting's top superheavyweights at today's BPC British Championships was already over after the squats. Brit Andy Bolton missed his 1,069 opener and 1,102 pound second, before calling for and hitting 1,102 pounds on his third. American Donnie Thompson bombed out of the meet after missing attempts at 1,069, 1,168, and 1,168 pounds. Bolton went on to bench 628 pounds and deadlift 914 pounds for a 2,644 pound total. On his final deadlift attempt, Bolton gave a run at an all-time record 1,004 pounds but came up short.
