The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Sorry, that wasn't meant towards you - that is actually a great idea. There was a thread yesterday in which a poster named Mr. Failed had some trouble getting chins in due to lack of equipment - this would be a great alternative.

I would be afraid of the wood cracking/breaking, then again I can't really tell how thick it is.

    Awesome! Love the ingenuity.

I'd imagine the fact that it is hanging would give an extra challenge to the maneuver.

Nice work. It doesn't have to be pretty it just has to work.

It is currently a fad, at this writing, for boys to think they need a "six pack", although most of them don't have an ice chest to put it in.

the wood is a pretty thick broom handle. It wont break under my 150 but a bigger guy could use a pipe.

Im scared of home made ones. Thanksgiving one year when i was about 12 tried doing one on a flower hanger and it broke off and hit me in above the eye. Needed stiches and the turkey was cold when i got back. But the tie downs look like a good idea.

They make a bar that fixes into doorways, not sure how heavy a person this failed guy is... but that might work for him.

I know I've used these before at a friends house and I weigh 250ish pounds...so I am thinking that he can probably use it too...unless he is a bigger fat ass than I am.

lol, I can't believe anyone tries to say that. If you are desperate enough, you can always go outside and find a horizontal tree branch.

I'm sorta picky because I get a twinge in my right fore-arm when I try to do chins with my wrist supinated, so I like to use two bars parallel to my direction, rather than one bar across my direction like most people do it, and even I have found a solution.
