Close Grip Floor Presses vs DB Floor Presses: What tickles your fancy?

    Just curious..

I haven't tried the close grip floor presses but I absolutely love the DB floor presses, they annihilate my triceps every time..

    What's your favorite and why?

Excuse the ignorance, but what's a floor press?
    Jason

It is currently a fad, at this writing, for boys to think they need a "six pack", although most of them don't have an ice chest to put it in.

benching with your back on the floor instead of on the bench.. it limits your ROM and hits mainly the triceps..

is there that many that don't want to participate, or that many that just don't do the exercises?

I've done close-grip floor presses on a few occasions and they destroyed my tris each time. I find db floor presses a bit awkward aswell so id stick with the former big man.

At times when my shoulders are bugging me, BB floor presses bother me. I then prefer DB presses with more of a neutral grip. I haven't done them in a bit though.

Ive tried DB floor presses but had trouble setting up without a spotter. I've only tried it once and it didn't fair too well so i stick with barbell floor presses.

But I am sure I gave many people some good laughs as I tried haha!

I prefer regular bench grip floor presses... I dont feel the need to bring them in close and they still fry my tri's

I'm with Ryuage, but of the two you listed, I like DB's. Hard to set up, but they kill my tri's. Haven't done them in a few years though, no DB's at my home "gym", but the last time I did them, I was spent.

Wouldn't a closer grip further the ROM even with it being as limited as 90deg. ?

I have no favorite. I do them both. Trainees should switch them often to avoid getting in a rut.
