    Briefs during Assistance exercises?

    Do you guys wear your briefs during compound assistance exercises? I was wondering if i should stay in them after my ME and DE work.

    Im thinking it might be better not to, since without the support of the briefs during these exercises it makes you work harder.... Which is good when you put on the briefs again during ME work...

    no - it doesn't take that long to head to the bathroom and take them off.

    I wouldn't stay in the briefs for very long, just when you need them. You don't want equipment to become a crutch and as you mentioned - without them you will work harder.

    If you really need something for support you can look into Rehband "warm shorts" or just simple compression shorts (like the Under Armor ones).

    The only time I stay in my briefs is if i am doing some speed pulls after speed squats. After the speed pulls they come off. With a conventional stance the briefs really dont do anything, but on Sumo you get some support. What kind of compound assistance exercises are you thinking of using them for?

    sorry for the late reply guys, but i was at Wacken Open Air, only the biggest heavy metal festival of the world! :-)

    anyway, i was thinking of using them on goodmornings, SSB squats, actually all barbell exercises after my max effort for LB and after speed squats on the other day.

    I would say go ahead and use them if they are for a heavy barbell exercise such as those you listed. If you are weak raw and want to focus on bringing that up then dont use them. Personally I use them for sumo deadlifts, Rack Pulls, Wide Stance GM's, Box Squats, when they are accessory exercises. I usually take them off for Zerchers, Close Stance GM's, and Higher Rep Squats (5+ reps). Really I try amd use them to just take some of the stress of my hips and also to acclimate to the gear as a meet approaches.
